Kirby Park has been involved in water polo in three capacities since 1972. As a player, Kirby has won 6 National Senior Championships and 3 silver medals from 1973-1984. From 1972-75 Kirby was a member of the McMaster Men’s Water Polo teams that won every game en route to four successive OUA Championship titles. Kirby was on the roster from 1976-77 for the Senior Men’s National Team. As a Coach, Kirby was the Assistant Coach of the Hamilton Aquatic Water Polo Club Junior Team and won the National Championships 1974 and 1975. Since 1999, Kirby has been a Coach with Hamilton Aquatic Water Polo Clubs coaching at all levels from Bantam to Senior teams. In 2007, Kirby was the Assistant Coach of the Hamilton Aquatic Water Polo Club Senior Men’s National Champions. Since 2006, Kirby was the Assistant Coach of McMaster team. In 2006, 2007, 2008 Kirby was the Head Coach of Team Ontario. In 2008-09 Kirby was the Head Coach of the Golden Horseshoe Training Centre. Kirby is a fully certified Level 3 NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) Coach and Water Polo Canada Learning Facilitator and Evaluator. Kirby’s water polo expertise, knowledge, experience and unfaltering dedication to Hamilton Aquatic Water Polo Club is an asset to the Coaching team, athletes and Club.
